100 Welsh Women

100 Welsh Women is a celebration of the extraordinary women who have contributed to the progression of the arts, education, politics and sciences in Wales, both historically and in contemporary times. WEN Wales and an expert panel originally created the list in 2018 to mark the centenary of the Representation of the People Act 1918, when some women gained the right to vote for the first time.

Working with artist Molly Allen, we have now visually reimagined this list of remarkable women as we approach the centenary of the Representation of the People Act 1928 – when women gained the right to vote on the same terms as men. Explore the list below, and get to know the lives, achievements, and legacies of our 100 Welsh Women.
