Privacy Statement

When you request information from WEN Wales, sign up to any of our services or buy things from us, WEN Wales may ask you to provide information about yourself. This statement explains how we look after that information and what we do with it.

We have a legal duty under the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation to prevent your information falling into the wrong hands. We must also do all that we can to ensure that the data we hold about you is accurate, adequate, relevant and not excessive.

Normally the only information we hold comes directly from you. Whenever we collect information from you we will make it clear which information is required in order to provide you with the information, service or goods that you need. You do not have to provide us with any additional information unless you choose to. We store your information securely on our computer system, we ensure that your information can only be accessed by those who need it, and we train our staff in handling the information securely.

When you sign up to WEN Wales membership or apply for a WEN Wales scheme, we will collect only the data that is absolutely needed to complete these specific tasks and this information will not be used for other purposes either internally within WEN Wales or externally. We will use your data for administration purposes and to communicate with you. You have the right at any time to withdraw your consent for this information to be held by WEN Wales and should contact the Director at WEN Wales, International House, 10 Churchill Way, Cardiff, CF10 2DX to inform us that you would like your personal data deleted.

As part of the registration process for our membership and e-newsletter, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to keep you up-to-date with the exciting things that we’re doing at WEN Wales; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing admin@wenwales.org.uk

When WEN Wales runs events we use a third-party provider, Eventbrite, to create e-tickets. Your name and email address will be taken to create a ticket and enable your details to be added to the attendance list. Please click here to see Eventbrite’s privacy notice. If you would like to delete your information from this system please do so via Eventbrite’s website or by emailing admin@wenwales.org.uk

When you provide us with data we may also ask if you would like to be contacted by WEN Wales in future so we can tell you about other services we provide, and ways in which you might like to support WEN Wales. You have the right to ask us not to contact you in this way and we will always provide a clear method for you to opt out. You can also contact us directly at any time to tell us not to send you any future marketing material.

You have the right to obtain a copy of all of the information that we hold about you. To obtain a copy, either ask for an application form to be sent to you, or write to the Director at WEN Wales, International House, 10 Churchill Way,
