Consultant needed: Help us create a step change on caring in Wales!

WEN Wales are looking for a freelancer to co-produce funding applications, briefings and website content in the run-up to the launch of our care campaign in March 2023.

Our ground-breaking coalition campaign, with partners including Oxfam Cymru, aims to ensure that care work, including childcare and social care, is valued, recognised and invested in and contributes to a cultural shift that recognises and values unpaid care work for all ages.

You will be an effective and enthusiastic communicator who shares our values and has a strong track record of submitting successful funding applications. You will be equally happy writing policy briefings and website content to raising awareness and building support for the aims of our campaign, both among political stakeholders and the general public.

You will be:

  • Dynamic and self-motivated
  • Able to work at pace with minimal supervision
  • Committed to intersectionality and a Wales free from gender discrimination
  • In tune with WEN’s values: Responsible, Relentless, Kind

You will have experience of:

  • Submitting successful grant applications, ideally within a charity/third sector environment
  • Researching and writing concise and accurate policy briefings and reports
  • Producing clear, engaging and accessible website content for a wider audience
  • You will also preferably be a Welsh speaker.

Terms and Conditions

  • Approx. 18 days from now until end of Jan 2022
  • Ability to start ASAP
  • Rate: £250-£300 per day depending on experience
