WEN wins at the Welsh Charity Awards

Thursday October 12th, 2023

On 11th October the Welsh Charity Awards took place in Cardiff, an event organised by WCVA to recognise and celebrate the fantastic contribution charities, community groups, not-for-profits and volunteers make to Wales by highlighting and championing the positive difference we can make to each other’s lives. We were delighted to be awarded as the winner of the Champion of Diversity Award, sponsored by Hugh James.

WEN Wales Director Victoria Vasey said:

“Diversity and inclusivity are at the core of WEN’s work and integral to the values embodied by our team. As we work for a Wales free from gender discrimination, we could not campaign for diverse and equal leadership through Diverse5050, diversify public and political life through the Equal Power Equal Voice mentoring programme, nor uplift marginalised voices through WEN Café events without the support of a vibrant network of members and supporters from across Wales. Nor could we make change to the lives of women and girls in Wales, in all their diversity, without our strong partnerships with other equalities organisations and of course the dedication of our committed team. There is still much to do to realise our vision of a Wales where all have equal authority and opportunity to shape society and their own lives, and throughout we will continue to champion diversity to ensure it is at the heart of our work.”
