Introduction to Gender Responsive Budgeting
FREE Training Workshop
Friday 22nd April & Thursday 28th April
10.00am – 2.30pm
Anchor Court, Keen Road, Cardiff, CF24 5JW
WEN Wales is delighted to offer two opportunities to attend a FREE training workshop on the topic of Gender Responsive Budgeting.
Gender-responsive budgeting (GRB) developed during the 1990s following the Fourth World Conference on Women held in Beijing in 1994. It began as a critique of traditional economic policies which had impacted negatively on working women. It has since developed both as a tool for examining budgets and as a device for analysing policy from a gender perspective.
This introductory workshop will cover the following topics:
-
What is Gender Responsive Budgeting?
-
Why Gender Responsive Budgeting is needed
-
How a gender responsive budget analysis should be carried out
-
What the benefits are for society and the economy.

This workshop will be useful for anyone who is involved in creating, monitoring and analysing budgets. It will also be of interest to women’s sector organisations and anyone who has a professional or academic interest in economic policy.
