Francesca Cooper, 56 from Cardiff, explains how Breeze rides have helped to build her confidence on the bike.

“My first breeze ride was last August. Before this the maximum time I had spent on my bike was 2 hours. The first ride was about 12-15 miles.

I’ve since ridden with four different breeze groups in South Wales; Newport, Cardiff, Cowbridge and Pontypool, and have also cycled with some mixed cycling groups. I like the fact that Breeze numbers are restricted for safety, and that throughout the ride all Breeze Champions promote safety awareness and checks. Also if I go away for a weekend, I like that I can check out Breeze rides in that locality. Breeze has not only improved my cycling skills, it has enabled me to increase my enjoyment of the countryside, and I’ve also made some wonderful new friends. I’ve had fantastic support and encouragement from Breeze Champions, who have really helped build my confidence. So much so that I’ll be riding 87 Miles at Velothon Wales, after raising over £500 in sponsorship for Arthritis Research UK. I’m looking forward to completing the Carten 100 and I am also planning to cycle the length of Wales with my newfound cycling buddies. Breeze has opened up a new world for me at 56. So from me, and Arthritis Research UK, thank you Breeze!”
