Gwenllian Morgan

Gwenllian Morgan, born in Defynnog, was the first woman in Wales to serve on a borough council, and to become Mayor. She had a strong passion for the history of Wales and often contributed to journals. The University of Wales awarded Morgan with an honorary MA degree in 1925.
