Wales Women’s Rights Manifesto

The Gender Network, a policy forum of 80 third sector representatives, activists and academics fighting for women’s rights in Wales, calls on all political parties and candidates to put gender equality at the heart of the next Senedd election in 2026. Drawing on our policy expertise and the work we developed individually and jointly across the third sector, we have identified six key areas where decisive action is needed most – both on devolved matters and through ensuring our concerns are heard and addressed at the UK level. Read the manifesto here.

We call upon the next Welsh Government to put women’s rights and gender equality at the heart of its work by committing to these actions:

  • Enshrine women’s rights in Welsh law
  • End economic inequalities
  • Confront the care crisis
  • Prevent gender-based violence and support survivors
  • Provide timely access to healthcare
  • Make the new Senedd a place for women
