WEN Wales is looking for a freelance part-time Communications Officer to support our social media and website work.

  • Location: Remote working  
  • Fee: £18 per hour inclusive 
  • Working hours: Up to 50 hours per month (flexible working) 
  • Contract type: 5 months with potential to extend

ABOUT THE ROLE

The freelance Communications Officer will report to the Communications and Engagement Manager. Tasks will include the following:

  • Copywriting: WEN and EPEV (Equal Power Equal Voice mentoring programme) social media 
  • Designing social media assets 
  • Posting and scheduling on EPEV and WEN social media platforms 
  • Social media monitoring 
  • Social media content calendar 
  • Copywriting: website content 
  • Uploading website content 
  • Analytics reporting: social media and website 

You will need the following: 

  • Experience of working in communications, preferably within a charity/third sector environment 
  • Good written communication 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Proficiency in using the following platforms: 
    • Social media: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Bluesky 
    • WordPress 
    • Canva (or other freely available graphic design software/tools) 
    • Google Analytics 
  • Understanding of gender inequality and intersectionality, particularly in the Welsh context 
  • Commitment to an intersectional, inclusive approach to women’s rights and a Wales free from gender discrimination.

Welsh speaker: Desirable
