WEN Wales is looking for a freelance part-time Communications Officer to support our social media and website work.
- Location: Remote working
- Fee: £18 per hour inclusive
- Working hours: Up to 50 hours per month (flexible working)
- Contract type: 5 months with potential to extend

ABOUT THE ROLE
The freelance Communications Officer will report to the Communications and Engagement Manager. Tasks will include the following:
- Copywriting: WEN and EPEV (Equal Power Equal Voice mentoring programme) social media
- Designing social media assets
- Posting and scheduling on EPEV and WEN social media platforms
- Social media monitoring
- Social media content calendar
- Copywriting: website content
- Uploading website content
- Analytics reporting: social media and website
You will need the following:
- Experience of working in communications, preferably within a charity/third sector environment
- Good written communication
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency in using the following platforms:
- Social media: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Bluesky
- WordPress
- Canva (or other freely available graphic design software/tools)
- Google Analytics
- Understanding of gender inequality and intersectionality, particularly in the Welsh context
- Commitment to an intersectional, inclusive approach to women’s rights and a Wales free from gender discrimination.
Welsh speaker: Desirable
