State of the Nation is a series of reports on the state of gender equality in Wales, developed in response to the Welsh Government’s ambition for Wales to become a world leader on gender equality. From 2019 onwards State of the Nation has been published annually, bringing together key indicators for gender equality and benchmarking progress against each one.

State of the Nation was originally developed by Chwarae Teg, who first published the report in 2019 and continued to produce an edition each year until the organisation’s closure in 2023. WEN Wales is now continuing the legacy by taking on State of the Nation, publishing the latest edition in 2024. Read it here.
