Chair of WEN Wales Sarah Powell to step down
We would like to announce that WEN Wales Chair Sarah Powell will be stepping down as Chair at our Autumn AGM as she begins her new role as Chief Executive of British Gymnastics. Sarah’s invaluable leadership and commitment has been integral to the evolution and growth of WEN since she joined as Chair in 2019. In particular, the Board of Trustees and staff team would like to extend our thanks for her expertise around developing and focusing our strategy. We know that she will bring her unparalleled vision to her new role. Thank you, Sarah.
As Sarah embarks on her next chapter, so we will embark upon ours at WEN Wales. While we are saddened to lose her as Chair, she leaves behind a thriving organisation that we as a staff team and Board are excited to continue building upon as we work to create a Wales free from gender discrimination.
Catherine Fookes, Director of WEN said, “Sarah’s energy and enthusiasm for WEN Wales has been infectious and her leadership and strategic focus has really helped us all grow and thrive, as individuals and as an organisation. We wish her every luck in her new role. She will be sorely missed.”
Sarah Powell said, “It’s been an honour and a huge pleasure to help WEN grow their impact and develop their strategy. I am so proud of what this small but mighty feminist organisation is achieving, and I know they will continue to go from strength to strength.”
