In 2018, Welsh Government committed to becoming a Feminist Government. WEN Wales and Oxfam Cymru produced this Feminist Scorecard Report 2020, an update to our first report in 2019, in consultation with key partners, to track their actions to advance women’s rights.
It is a snapshot of Welsh Government’s performance in six key areas in the time period April 2019 and January 2020 and shows where Wales sits on gender equality. This year we have added Health as a new key area.
- Fair Finance
- Caring Responsibilities
- Global Women’s Rights
- Equal Representation & Leadership
- Tackling Gender Health Inequalities
- Ending Violence Against Women & Girls
The Scorecard shows that while Welsh Government has excellent intentions and legislation and has made some progress in some of our key areas since 2019, it must now move to action to deliver on its ambitions.
Many thanks to Carers Wales; Chwarae Teg; Fair Treatment for the Women of Wales (FTWW); Olwen Williams OBE; Stop Climate Chaos Cymru (SCCC); The Children’s Commissioner; Welsh Women’s Aid; the Wales Overseas Agencies Group (WOAG); Welsh Government; and the Welsh Refugee Coalition for their contributions to this report.
